Bo Jackson: Injuries cost him

Bo Jackson may well be the greatest athlete of all time. He played both baseball and football at a good level in small sample sizes. If he never got hurt we can only dream of what his statistics might have been. He was an awesome power hitter in the MLB, averaging over 30 homers a full season.

His football skills gave him great speed and he also averaged around 20 stolen bases a full season. His issues were strikeouts and getting on base, but during a very pitcher friendly era having a straight masher like Bo in the lineup does wonders for your run scoring. He also did many things that don’t come up on the back of a baseball card, like once beating out a grounder to second one time.

What really made him known as a baseball player was his bomb of a homer in the 1989 all star game. Bo is the one of the all time athletes, injuries cost us the wonder of watching him play for a long time. Thanks for reading.
