Ty Cobb: An all time great

Tyrus Raymond Cobb, mostly known as Ty Cobb was an incredible ball player in the first two decades of the 1900s. Known for his hitting prowess as well as his general disregard for being a respectable human being. He has a few all time records that have stood for almost a century.

He is still the career batting average leader hitting .366 for his career. He held stolen base, runs scored and games/at bats records until the 70s and 80s and is up there in the books at doubles and triples as well. In seasons where he played in at least 100 games his lowest batting average was .324. From 1909-1919 he hit over .365 every year his best being .419.

His crash and burn style of play was like Lenny Dykstra with twice the tobacco and 5 times the aggressiveness, needless to say he was amazing. He was a consistent run producer on great teams, and horrific ones where he was the only real player. The Georgia Peach was no joke and even if he was hated twice as much as Albert Belle he was still one of the best players of all time.
